Counts and Dobyns, Inc. (a SharpeSoft client since 2010) has been a familiar fixture in Virginia since they first began offering excavation services in 1986. Lead by founder Terry P. Dobyns, the company today is comprised of four distinct divisions, encompassing grading, utilities, concrete, and boring. This gives Dobyns the ability to perform every aspect of a project in house and without relying on subcontractors, so that the entire scope of each job is under their control. This has proven to be popular with many clients who prefer dealing with just one contractor because it reduces costs and delays, and guarantees accountability across all aspects of the job.
With more than 120 employees, they can field up to six grading and excavation crews, nine utility crews, and seven concrete crews and they have a self sufficient dedicated boring crew.
The company routinely performs work for state, county, and municipal agencies throughout Virginia, keeping a busy schedule of road construction, earthwork, utility, sidewalks, and curb & gutter projects, as well as municipal contracts for infrastructure upkeep and repair.
In addition, the company has been both prime contractor or a subcontractor on school, housing and business/retail center projects and has worked for such big box retailers as Wal-Mart, Lowe’s and Home Depot. They enjoy one of the best reputations for on time delivery and complete customer satisfaction.
One thing that the company prides itself on is how much of their work comes from word of mouth and from repeat customers. In fact, the company does not even bother with advertising – or even signage on their company headquarters - because their reputation for outstanding work and reliability speaks for itself.
