Once you have been awarded the project using SharpeSoft Estimator™ you can import your original estimate into Field Reporter to begin tracking job progress. The following steps show how to export the job from Estimator, import it into Field Reporter, and then assign foremen to that job.
Before you begin, make sure that both Estimator and Field Reporter are running.
Select and Activate job in SharpeSoft Estimator™
In Estimator, open the Jobs window by clicking on the Setup Jobs toolbar button (or go to the Setup menu and click Jobs).
In the Jobs window, right click on the job you want and click Activate Job in the context menu (or click once on the job and click the Activate Job toolbar button).
In the confirmation window that opens, click Yes.
Export the Job to a Directory on your Computer
Now, click on the Export to SharpeSoft Field Reporter button in the Estimator toolbar. The Select Directory window will open. There, enter the path where the exported file is to be saved. This should be a shared folder where you can save all of your export files.
To begin the export, click Save. A progress window will appear briefly. In a moment, your exported job will be listed in the directory you designated.
Open Field Reporter and Import Job
In Field Reporter, go to the Utilities menu and click Import from SharpeSoft Estimator. The Select Job Estimate window will open.
Locate the folder where you exported the job from Estimator and double click the job file. The Estimator Import Options window will open.
Click Import a new job. A progress window will appear as your job is imported into Field Reporter™.
Assign Foremen/Systems to the Job
Before the system completes the job import, you will be prompted to select the foremen and/or field systems that will be assigned to that job.
In the query window that appears, click Yes and the Select Foremen/Systems window will open.
To select the foremen/systems that you want to assign to this job, hold down the Ctrl key and click on the ones you want. This marks them for selection.
Once you have marked all of the foremen systems you want, click Select and the system will complete the import.
The job will now be listed in the Jobs window and the foremen you selected will be assigned to that job.
